A Wirral-based support service exclusively for women has been honoured by The Learning and Skills Council (LSC) this week, at Greater Merseyside’s first ever SkillWorks awards.
Women In Business was presented with the Micro Enterprise Award by the LSC’s North West Regional Skills Director, Paul Holme at the Skills at Work event, held at Liverpool’s Town Hall on Tuesday.
The Skills at Work conference was organised to award businesses that have been helped by the LSC Greater Merseyside’s EU co-financed SkillWorks scheme and to launch the national Train to Gain programme to the region.
Ellen Kerr who collected the award of behalf of Women In Business said: “When we first contacted SkillWorks our systems were labour intensive and restrictive in terms of access.
Staff training has reduced this dramatically and we are now able to offer an even better service to our growing client base.”
