Jean Gadsby is a qualified Accountant with 25 years experience in running her own Accountancy practice in Liverpool City Centre, specialising in small and medium size businesses, whilst working with them in all aspects of taxation and personal and corporate affairs.
She has a private portfolio of clients who she nurtures, to ensure that their businesses run seamlessly and profitably.
She is passionate about Women’s enterprise, and believes that the attitude of HMRC to small businesses needs to be actively addressed, to encourage sustainability in years two and three of rising businesses.
She is a Board Member of the North West Women’s Economic Forum, setting the strategy for Women’s Enterprise in the North West.

She has been involved with Merseyside Woman of the Year Awards from its inception nine years ago, firstly as a Judge, and now as the primary organiser of the event.
She has a wide range of Private Sector experience , having been a Director of Liverpool Chamber of Commerce for eleven years, and still sits on the Chamber Council.
She was Chair of the National Lottery Community Fund in the North West [now the Big Lottery], and has also served on the board of BAFTA, the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Society and Plus Dane Housing Association.
She was awarded “ Inspirational Woman of the Year “ in 2009, and also finds time to sit as a trustee on The Chief Constable and High Sheriffs Trust, the Rodney Street Association, and is a verifier for the John Moore’s University , “World of Work “ Degree qualification.
