The UK’s leading youth charity, The Princes Trust, is teaming up with local housing associations to hold a business enterprise course for young people in Wirral.

The Princes Trust has helped over 80,000 young people set up their own business, and they’ll be in Birkenhead to help even more people become their own boss. If you’re aged 18 to 30, are a UK resident, unemployed, or working fewer than 16 hours a week, and have a business idea or some ideas to explore, The Princes Trust Enterprise programme could be for you.

You'll get to meet other like-minded people on the free four day course, which will help you decide whether running a business is right for you. You’ll be provided with guidance on everything from business planning, marketing and selling to finance and budgeting.

After completing the four day course, The Princes Trust will help you to plan and test your ideas, and give you the opportunity to apply for funding. Once you've launched your business, they'll provide you with an experienced business mentor who will be on hand every step of the way, for up to two years.

Wirral based social landlords, including Magenta Living, Riverside and the team at Beechwood, Ballantyne & Bidston Village Big Local have come together to bring the Prince’s Trust Enterprise Course to Wirral for the first time.

Sally Kew, Community Engagement Lead Officer for Magenta Living, said: “I’m absolutely delighted that we’re able to host The Princes Trust Enterprise event at our offices. We do a huge amount of work around employment & enterprise, and it’s great that this initiative will help young adults down the road of self-employment. Those attending will receive so much support, both during and after the event.”

This four day Enterprise programme is being held at Magenta Living’s head office, Partnership Building, Hamilton Street, Birkenhead, CH41 5AA from the 2nd to the 5th August from 10am to 4pm each day.
